The music I listen to is so diverse that if the algorithms of music-streaming services were human, they would believe that I must be mad. I listen to classical music from the 19th and 20th centuries through to trance, hip hop and music from the streets. I can enjoy tracks from the 1960s, 1970s to today’s chart music. On top of that, I can enjoy loads of guilty pleasures. I realize that I am trying to make music and I keep on believing that I am creating music that still has something new, just a little bit of it. But basically I must say that when I listen to icons such as John Mellencamp, Ryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Ed Sheeran, The Eagles, I actually believe there is hardly anything more to do. All is already said and done. ….
